the difficult thing about playing with dirt is that it’s hard to clean,
it starts to rain and you look at the space behind your nails,
it’s covered around and in the spaces in between,
so it starts to rain and it trickles down your cheeks,
all that water and you’re still not clean,
surely soap will do the trick and you scrub away,
you take so long in the shower with the water that trickles down your cheeks,
all that soap and you think you’re clean,
you start to think of your favorite jeans,
covered in mud hard to not be seen,
you start to wonder if every part of you will ever be clean.
